Newton's Law of Cooling

Assignment

  1. The material brass is kept in water and heated up to 60°C. Calculate the time taken to cool and reach room temperature. Draw the cooling curve and verify Newton's Law of Cooling.
  2. Explain the cooling curve of brass and aluminum when heated to 80°C. Both materials are kept in vegetable oil. Find the time required for every 5°C fall in temperature.
  3. The material copper is kept in water and heated up to 70°C. Calculate the time taken to cool and reach room temperature. Draw the cooling curve and verify Newton's Law of Cooling.
  4. Calculate the time taken for every 10°C fall in temperature for silver when heated up to 80°C and kept in olive oil.
  5. Draw the cooling curve of silver when heated to 75°C and placed in milk.
