Shear Test Experiment
The aim of this experiment is to study the behaviour of a material subjected to shear loading and determine its shear strength.
The test helps in understanding how materials resist forces that cause adjacent layers to slide relative to each other. By applying a gradually increasing load to the specimen, the load required to cause shear failure can be determined. The results are used to evaluate the shear strength of the material and its suitability for engineering applications involving bolts, rivets, pins, joints, and structural connections.
