Ripple-Process
Follow the Steps Below to Perform the Ripple-process Experiment:
Select a suitable metallic tube material for bellows formation and ensure it is free from surface defects and impurities.
Prepare the tube with the required dimensions and place it properly inside the ripple forming setup.
Position the tube between the hydraulic or mechanical press dies, ensuring correct alignment.
Apply pressure using the press to bulge the tube at fixed and equidistant locations along its length.
Release the applied pressure after the bulging stage is completed.
Apply axial compressive force to the tube to collapse the bulged regions.
Continue axial compression until uniform ripples or convolutions are formed along the tube length.
Remove the formed bellows tube from the setup carefully.
Inspect the formed ripples for uniformity and proper convolution formation.
Record observations related to deformation behavior and ripple formation.
