The aim of this experiment is twofold:
(a) To understand the quantitative techniques for grain size measurement, including the ASTM standard, Heyn’s linear intercept method, and Jeffries planimetric method.
(b) To analyse the advantages and limitations of these quantitative techniques in estimating grain size.
