Flakiness Index

Procedure

Step 1: Initial Setup

Click on the weighing balance (arrow points to it). Click on the tray to place it on balance (arrow points to it). Click the "TARE" button. Click the "Next Step" button.

Step 2: Weigh Sample

Click on the aggregate sample container (arrow points to it). Click on the tray to pour aggregates (arrow points to it). Note the weight displayed on balance. Click the "Next Step" button.

Step 3: Arrange Sieves

Click on the 20mm sieve (arrow points to it). Click on the 16mm sieve (arrow points to it). Click on the 12.5mm sieve (arrow points to it). Click on the 10mm sieve (arrow points to it). Click on the 6.3mm sieve (arrow points to it). Click on the pan to place at bottom (arrow points to it). Click the "Next Step" button.

Step 4: Pour Aggregates

Click on the tray to pour sample into sieve stack (arrow points to it). Click on the lid to cover sieve stack (arrow points to it). Click the "Next Step" button.

Step 5: Start Sieving

Click on the sieve stack to place on shaker (arrow points to it). Click the "START" button on sieve shaker. Wait for sieving to complete. Click the "Next Step" button.

Step 6: Test 20mm Fraction

Click on the 20mm sieve to pick retained aggregates (arrow points to it). Click on the flakiness gauge (arrow points to it). Click on "25-20mm slot" (arrow points to it). Click on aggregates to pass through slot (arrow points to it). Click on passing aggregates to separate (arrow points to it). Click on weighing balance (arrow points to it). Click the "Record Weight" button. Click the "Next Step" button.

Step 7: Test 16mm Fraction

Click on the 16mm sieve to pick retained aggregates (arrow points to it). Click on "20-16mm slot" on gauge (arrow points to it). Click on aggregates to pass through slot (arrow points to it). Click on passing aggregates to separate (arrow points to it). Click on weighing balance (arrow points to it). Click the "Record Weight" button. Click the "Next Step" button.

Step 8: Test 12.5mm Fraction

Click on the 12.5mm sieve to pick retained aggregates (arrow points to it). Click on "16-12.5mm slot" on gauge (arrow points to it). Click on aggregates to pass through slot (arrow points to it). Click on passing aggregates to separate (arrow points to it). Click on weighing balance (arrow points to it). Click the "Record Weight" button. Click the "Next Step" button.

Step 9: Test 10mm Fraction

Click on the 10mm sieve to pick retained aggregates (arrow points to it). Click on "12.5-10mm slot" on gauge (arrow points to it). Click on aggregates to pass through slot (arrow points to it). Click on passing aggregates to separate (arrow points to it). Click on weighing balance (arrow points to it). Click the "Record Weight" button. Click the "Next Step" button.

Step 10: Test 6.3mm Fraction

Click on the 6.3mm sieve to pick retained aggregates (arrow points to it). Click on "10-6.3mm slot" on gauge (arrow points to it). Click on aggregates to pass through slot (arrow points to it). Click on passing aggregates to separate (arrow points to it). Click on weighing balance (arrow points to it). Click the "Record Weight" button. Click the "Next Step" button.

Step 11: View Results

Click the "Calculate Flakiness Index" button. Click the "View Results" button. Click the "Note Flakiness Index %" button.

Step 12: Conclusion

Click the "Conclusion" button.
