Requirements (Instruments, Chemicals & Other) :
• Orifice Meter
• Piping System
• Supply Pump Set
• Measuring Tank
• Differential Manometer
• Sump Tank
• Stop Watch

Procedure :

1. Ensure valves of inlet pipe (main valve), Orifice meter pipe line and manometer are closed.
   
2. Check whether the water level in the main tank is sufficient for the suction pipe of pump to be completely immersed.
   
3. The main valve of the pipeline selected for the experimentation is opened.
   
4. The ball valves of the corresponding manometer & Orifice meter are opened.
   
5. Now switch on the pump.
   
6. Adjust the control valve kept at the exit side of the Orifice to a desired flow rate and maintain the flow.
   
7. Wait till the flow attains a steady state.
   
8. Note down the readings of manometer & time for 10cm rise in measuring tank.
