STEP  1 

Objective:

To determine the split tensile strength of cylinder concrete specimen as per IS 1199.

Apparatus used:

CTM, Split tensile loading setup

STEP  2 

 Provide Specimen Details

Enter the Age of specimen:

Days

Select the Diameter (D) of the Specimen:

--Select-- 150 mm

Select the Length (L) of the Specimen:

--Select-- 300 mm

STEP  3  a). Click on the specimens to take them out of the curing tank.
b). Click on the cloth to wipe off the surface water on the specimens.
Note: Any projecting fins shall be removed from the surfaces which are to be in
contact with the packing strips. / / /

STEP  4  a). Using a marker, central lines shall be drawn on the two opposite faces.
Note: Ensure that they are in the same axial plane.

STEP  5  a).Place the specimen in machine with lines marked on the ends stay vertical and centered over the bottom plate.

Note: Place the other hardwood strip below and above the specimen. / /

STEP  6  a). Click Numpad on CTM for zoom view. b). Enter the rate of loading in KN/sec so that the effective rate of loading is from 1.2 to 2.4 N/mm²/min.

STEP  7   Specimen 1  a). Click on the dial of CTM for zoomed view. b). Click Start button of CTM to initiate the test. c). Click Stop Button to see Values /

Click Next to Examine the fractured specimen.

STEP  9   Specimen 2  a). Click on the dial of CTM for zoomed view. b). Click Start button of CTM to initiate the test. c). Click Stop Button to see Values /
