Instructions

To understand Outage Probability Analysis, please follow the following steps:

  1. Use the System Parameters panel to configure the wireless environment (transmitter power, frequency, noise floor, etc.)
  2. Choose obstacle placement method: Manual (click on grid cells) or Generate Layout (random distribution)
  3. For manual mode, select click mode (Normal/Heavy/Erase) and place obstacles by clicking on grid cells
  4. Observe signal strength visualization: green indicates strong signal, yellow is medium, and red is weak
  5. Cells with red borders indicate "outage" regions where signal is too weak to maintain connection
  6. Analyze the coverage metrics, signal analysis, and path loss data in the Results & Analysis panel
  7. Try different environment types and obstacle patterns to understand their impact on outage probability

Instructions

To understand Signal Analysis Plots, please follow the following steps:

  1. Select a chart type from the dropdown menu to visualize different signal propagation characteristics
  2. Observe "SNR vs Distance" to understand how signal-to-noise ratio degrades with distance from transmitter
  3. View "Received Power vs Distance" to analyze power decay across the coverage area
  4. Examine "Path Loss vs Distance" to see total signal attenuation including obstacles and environment factors
  5. Study "P(outage) vs SNR Threshold" to understand the probability of outage at various signal quality levels
  6. Notice how obstacles and environment settings from the simulation tab directly affect these plots
  7. Compare data points to identify areas with good coverage versus outage zones
