Heat of Hydration of Cement
Objective:
To determine the heat of hydration of a given sample of cement.
Apparatus used:
Calorimeter, mortar and pestle, stopwatch or timer, muffle furnace, analytical balance, weighing bottles, camel hair brush, dessicator.
Material used:
Cement sample, nitric acid (2N strength), hydrofluoric acid (40% w/w), zinc oxide, paraffin wax, distilled water.
