Learning objectives

• To learn to set up a simple microbial fuel cell (MFC) experiment and to observe exoelectrogenesis using Caulobacter crescentus.

• To learn the characteristics of Caulobacter crescentus and its exoelectrogenic properties through extracellular electron transfer.

• To measure and analyze electrical current produced by the bacterium.
