Universal testing machine, Shear attachments,Vernier calipers.
Take the mild steel plate specimen and determine the width 'w' & thickness 'd' of the mild steel plate using vernier calipers.

The mild steel plate is placed in the shear attachment and placed into the Universal Testing machine.
Plunger
The machine is switched ON & the load is gradually increased until the specimen is fractured and the required load is noted down.
Calculate the double shear strength of mild steel plate.
